Cook: "Apple Watch is the most personal device Apple has ever created."
On Twitter, @maughmer says: "The Onion has already reported that the Apple Watch allows users to start and stop the flow of time."
Again, more cool people wearing Apple Watch onscreen. LET ME LIVE IN YOUR WORLD.
Cook says this has been "an incredibly fun morning for us." Us too Cook, let's chill after?
OHO! "One more ONE MORE thing"--you'll be able to use Apple Pay with Apple Watch! Pay for stuff by waving your hand.
Cook: "Apple Pay will work with Apple Watch. Everything you need is built right in to Apple Watch."
Cook: "Apple Watch will redefine what people expect from a watch."
So the Apple Watch has FOUR ways to input: Speak, touch the screen, turn the crown, press the button under the crown. Brainwaves coming in 2.0.
Cook is discussing the iTunes Festival in London.
There is a drum kit rolling out to the stage...
Yep, U2 is coming out on stage!
They're about to come out and perform
U2 performing live on stage. They've cranked the volume to 13.
Ok, that's it for the announcements! Old man here (me) thinks U2 is very loud. Any questions for us? Vera will field questions. I gotta get out of here in a minute for some video stuff.
OK, that's it for the Apple announcements. We have stories ALREADY on YahooTech.com on each news bit; more shortly. See you there!
Bono is in his signature shades. Silly Bono, It's not even dark in here!
U2, you don't have to play so loud. We're right here! A few feet from you.
Release date for watch: Next year, nothing more specific. Price: "starting at" $349, but there are a lot of configurations and options
It's called "Sons of Innocence," and Bono is hinting that he'll be releasing it via iTunes.
Answer to question: I do not think the watch requires a contract. It does not have its own cellular connections. It uses your phone.
Cook is out on stage with Bono. He says he is releasing a new U2's album.
Me: "If a bomb fell on this room, every tech journalist in America would die." Michael Miller (former PC Mag editor): "The question is, would that be an improvement?"
I love U2, but today at the Apple event, they were performing as U2Loud.
Answer to a Q: No mention of the iPhone being waterproof, so No to that.
Cook "Are we the very first people to see this in the world??" Like he didn't already know.
Cook says he'll put "Songs of Innocence" for free in about five seconds.
They just counted down, guess it's out! Check your iTunes stores if you want a free U2 album. Cook "That just happened."
@Kong no mention of Watch's waterproofness. No video showed anyone near any body of water. So... an area for improvement!
It'll only be with Apple until mid-October. That's pretty big. Sounds like they're aiming to do more exclusive content. Won't be as big as a surprise Beyonce album drop tho. Nothing can top that.
