Amazing watch interface. All those "Apple doesn't innovate anymore" whiners (like me) will have to shut up for awhile.
Ive: "Apps are designed for lightweight interaction."
You can swipe through info.
The button below the crown shows you friends you can instantly connect to.
You can "tap" to connect friends.
You can even send your own heartbeat (ed note: hubba hubba)
OK, the watch DOES have a touchscreen--in fact, it knows how HARD you're pressing. TOLD you it was mindreading.
Ive: There's a flexible retina display, on sapphire display.
We invented new technologies. It senses touch as well as force.Tells the difference between a tap and a press.
Ive: "For the first time... we've designed not only what you see, but what you hear and feel."
There's a "taptic engine" that creates a discreet experience. (ed: World's most advanced buzzer?)
Ive: The back has four lenses to detect pulse rate.
The watch provides a comprehensive picture of your daily activity, to reward fitness milestones.
The back of the watch has 2 lenses: IR, light (for pulse rate); magnetic wireless charger snaps on. It, too, is gorgeous.
Ive: Inductive charging - no exposed contacts.
Ive: "We have worked closely with horological experts around the world to understand cultural significance of timekeeping."
Nobody's yet seen the Apple Watch in person. Could the screen possibly look as amazing as it does in this video?
Oh thank god. It doesn't require a Philips screwdriver and 2 hours to change watchbands. Just slides right out.
Ive: Customizable watch faces, and beyond.
We have designed six different straps, and a new mechanism to make them interchangeable.
Sport band is sweat-proof.
Leather loop fastens with magnets.
Leather standard band has a claspe
Simple Leather Classic has typical buckle.
Metal band has a deployment buckle
Milinase (sp?) mesh band also has magnets.
There's a smaller version
Apple is showing these amazing watchbands, including magnetic-closing ones. Forget the watch--how can I get those BANDS?
Apple Watch will be available in 18K gold, for those in the Tesla crowd.
I'm glad Apple Watch will have a smaller wristband/watch size for little-wristed people like me.
Ive: "We designed Apple Watch as a whole range of products enabling millions of unique designs. I think we are not at a compelling beginning, designing technology to be worn, to be personal."
Jony Ive, will you officiate my future wedding someday?
